The Hallelujah Mountains (Na'vi named them "Thundering Rocks") are floating islands that circulate slowly in the magnetic currents like icebergs at sea, scraping against each other and the towering mesa-like mountains of the region. On Pandora, huge outcroppings of Unobtainium rip loose from the surface and float in the magnetic vortices due to the Meissner Effect.This would be familiar to everyone  who have watched the latest james cameron.movie AVATAR.                        

Film broke all collections records and further widened the popularity of  james cameron the director of the movie.
But there is another that has also risen into the lime light THE Avatar Hallelujah Mountains

The mountains used in the block buster movie Avatar were previously called as Southern Sky Mountains. These mountains are situated in a beautiful part of southern China. These Mountains which have recently been renamed to the Avatar Hallelujah Mountains after the floating mountains. The floating Hallelujah Mountains in the movie were the inspiration of a Hollywood photographer who, in 2008, shot photos of the Southern Sky Column Mountains.
